Mathematics

An Engaging Mathematics Program.

The Mathematics program at Hampton East School aims to develop numerate learners who are able to transfer their numeracy skills into their everyday life experiences. Guided by the Victorian Curriculum, that incorporates the Towards Foundation Levels A-D and the integration of technologies, teachers are able to support students from Years 7-10 to engage with the curriculum.

Number, Measurement and Statistics

Our Mathematics program includes Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry and Statistics and Probability.

All students have an Individual Learning Plan that incorporates goals for each area based on a range of assessment methods. The Mathematics learning sequences are delivered through differentiated daily lessons. Students are provided with opportunities to experience Mathematics through a range of relevant and contextualised situations.  This is key to students being able to transfer their numeracy skills outside of the classroom.
