Our Principal

Welcome to Hampton East School - Excellence in Inclusive Education.

A school for P-12 students with a mild to moderate Intellectual Disability.

It is with much excitement we bring to you a new school where every child can learn and experience success. Over the next 12 months we will be developing a P-12 Special School where we as a community of students, staff and families will help build the name, the logo, the brand, our combined values, and the pedagogical model. We come together as Hampton East to one. As a Principal with over 20 years’ experience, I am delighted to be leading the students, staff, and families in this merge. With this comes a new energy, enthusiasm, and opportunities to fully support the integrated team.

We will provide a comprehensive curriculum program with a continued focus on Literacy and Numeracy. Students follow the Victorian Curriculum in Years P-10 and the Victorian Pathway Program (VPC) Foundation Curriculum in Years 11 and 12. Our students take part in several specialist classes including: Physical Education, Swimming, Art, Dance, Music, Digital and Food Technology.

The school continues to access careers and pathway programs and students all have Individual Learning Plans to support them throughout their schooling journey. To be eligible for enrolment, students must be funded through the Disability Inclusion Model under the category of Intellectual Disability with an IQ between 50 and 70. The school is committed to the Child Safe Standards and protecting the rights and safety of students.

If you are interested in joining us in the development of our new school or finding out more about Hampton East please contact our administration team to discuss eligibility and organise a school tour.

Yours sincerely,
Juliet Cooper
